Hot off the painting table today. I have painted a fireman ornament that can be personalized to your needs. I wanted to paint mine in honor of those that lost their lives on 911. I am enjoying adding the clay for the hats on my newest ornaments. Nice addition, plus was the answer to my problem. $17.95 plus shipping in my Etsy shop.

Marine and Bride Cake Toppers
Little did I know that my friend's daughter would use my Marine and bride lightbulb ornaments as wedding toppers. I was so touched and honored! Now I am going to add custom wedding toppers to my Etsy shop. Love new ideas!

Marine Wedding
One of my best friends' daughter is getting married next weekend and she is marrying a Marine so naturally I had to make her a gift of ornaments complete with the Marine groom, which he will be wearing the uniform to get hitched. I really struggled with making the hat. First I tried air dry clay as I didn't want to have to bake the bulb but it ended up cracking majorly. So I tried polymer clay and baked it on the bulb on very low heat and it worked beautifully. I am so excited this worked as I have two new designs I have painted that need hats that aren't made of fleece so I hope to get those finished in the next week or so. Stay tuned to those!

Santa with Glasses Lightbulb Ornament
I have forever wanted to paint a santa with glasses and now I can mark that off of my list. This is what I came up with. I also love black/white checks so he needed those on his hat. So happy to add him to my ever growing santa collection! I hope you like!

Santa Hunter Lightbulb Ornament
I haven't been near as productive as I would like to be this new year but now that ol' man winter is finally getting out of here, spring has sprung and I am feeling a bit more creative. I have forever wanted to paint more hobby like ornaments and I just knew a hunter would have to be added to my collection of santas. Besides, I don't have many ornaments geared to guys and I am trying to remedy that. This little fellow is what I came up with. He has on a bright orange hat so that he will still safe in the woods. I couldn't bear to add an animal to it as I don't quite like the thought of those precious animals getting killed although sometimes I know it is necessary. Hope you like this santa! Thanks for looking!

New Year...New Ornaments
I sooo need to get better at blogging...it needs to become a daily routine doesn't it? I've been busy painting up some new designs so stay tuned for sure! I just completed a hunter santa and my tropical santa for 2014. I still need to finish them up with hats. I want to find a straw hat to fit the tropical santa so it may be awhile before he is completed. I am going to try and add at least one tropical santa per year to my collection. I have 4 new lightbulb ornaments on the painting table right now. Funny, I fret the instant the brush hits the bulb because I NEVER think they will turn out but am usually pleasantly surprised with the end result...we shall see...hope this will be the case with these 4.
Sometimes I am commissioned to paint special orders. In this case, my wonderful friend Ann Rea, who by the way keeps me busy painting bride and groom ornaments for all her friend's kids who are getting married, has a niece who is a doctor who married a doctor. Off to the designing board I went. Here is the result!

Beach Santa with Lighthouse Wine/Champagne Bottles
I must say that the beach santas I designed and painted this year have been my best sellers. I have a large order I am working on right now of them. I decided to start painting up the bottles based on my bulb ornaments, only larger of course. Here is the beach santa with a lighthouse. I took him and my other santa with the dolphin which I will also share with you on vacation with me to St. George Island, FL. Enjoy!
